Head Protection

Protecting women miners from potential head injuries is a key element of safety. A head injury can impair an employee for life and can even be fatal. By providing a good fitting helmet women will feel protected and comfortable therefore eliminating the chance of helmets slipping and resulting in injury.

Hard hats also tend to be dangerously loose for women, as research has reportedly shown that the female head is, on average, 1.3 cm smaller than the male head. As a result, Select PPE’s new hard hats made for women have an inner ratchet that is 4 cm smaller than the smallest option currently available, thereby ensuring a safer and more comfortable fit.
